Sizing Your Shirt

Foudys Guide To Shirt Sizing
Finding the perfect football shirt can be a bit of a maze. If you’ve ever found yourself staring at "Curved Fit" vs. "Straight Fit" and wondering which path to take, you aren't alone!
Here is a breakdown of how to navigate football shirt sizing so you feel comfortable and confident, whether you’re on the pitch or in the stands.
Curved Fit vs. Straight Fit: What’s the Difference?
While many people think there are massive structural differences between brands like Nike and Adidas, the truth is more nuanced. It mostly comes down to how the fabric hugs your body.

Curved Fit (often labelled Women's): These are typically more tapered at the waist and shorter in length.
Straight Fit (often labelled Men's/Unisex): These have a boxy, uniform cut from the shoulder to the hem and tend to be longer.
Pro-tip: Don't feel restricted by the labels. Many fans vary between both styles depending on the look they want!
Why You Might Need Multiple Sizes
It’s completely normal to have multiple different sizes in your collection. Here’s why you might want to switch it up:
1. The "Vibe" and Styling
The Tucked Look: If you’re wearing jeans and want to tuck your shirt in, a Curved Fit or a smaller size is often better as there is less "bulk" at the waist.
The Baggy Look: For a relaxed, streetwear vibe, a Straight Fit or a larger size looks great over the top of jeans and provides extra length.
The Player: When playing some people like a more fitted shirt that moves more with their body. For others they love the retro baller oversized look.
2. Fabric Colour
Lighter-coloured fabrics can sometimes feel a bit more revealing. Choosing a size up in a white or cream kit can offer that extra bit of comfort and confidence.
3. Life Happens
Our bodies change day-to-day. Whether you’re feeling a bit bloated or it’s that time of the month, having a "comfort" size in your wardrobe is a game-changer.
Foudys does it differently
"Everyone's style and preferences are different. I don't think anyone should ever feel limited in what they can wear. The idea that 'I am a woman, therefore I must wear women's fit.' was something I never assigned to. Therefore, I wanted to reflect that in how we spoke about fit at Foudys. So we introduced the language of Curved and Straight fit - to reflect the cut of the fabric. At Foudys we want you to feel safe and supported to express your true selves, in your style, fandom, and love for football. If it feels good - wear it" - Helen Hardy
